Associate Professional Clinical Counselor (APCC #16700)
Jocelyne is an Associate Professional Clinical Counselor who specializes in therapy for families, children, and adolescents aged 17 and under. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from California State University, East Bay, and a Master of Science degree in Clinical Psychology with a focus on Clinical Counseling from Capella University. Fluent in English and advanced in Spanish, Jocelyne has extensive experience working with individuals from diverse cultural, neurological, sexual, and gender backgrounds.
Jocelyne’s career in mental health began as a Registered Behavioral Interventionist, providing behavioral therapy interventions and family training for children aged 3-10 diagnosed on the autism spectrum. Later, she worked as a bilingual research interviewer at the University of Wisconsin Survey Center for the CORES (Community Resources) Study and the CalYOUTH (California Youth Transitions to Adulthood) Study, serving victims of sexual and domestic violence, transitional-aged youth, those involved in the foster care system, as well as those experiencing homelessness, substance abuse, and other co-occurring disorders.
Jocelyne furthered her experience as a Counselor Trainee at two non-profit organizations, the Kiva Spirit Foundation and the YMCA's Youth Service Bureau of San Mateo County. In this role, she served as the counselor at Monte Verde Elementary School in South San Francisco and Highlands Elementary School in San Mateo. Her clinical training covers a range of issues including depression, anxiety, panic, suicidal ideation, self-injurious behavior, grief, separation, or divorce in families, and trauma.
Additionally, Jocelyne has completed foundational training in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and is enthusiastic about assisting clients at MindFit, helping them navigate toward the fulfilling life they aspire to achieve.
